Jordanian army officers appeal the King to work for stopping the war
Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 4/8/2003

Some fifty high ranking Jordanian retired army officers sent a cable to the Jordanian King Abdullah in which they appealed to him to continue efforts to reject the war and aggression against Iraq.

These army officers including five carrying the grade of Lt. Gen. and 24 Maj. Gen. stressed in their cable which was published yesterday in the Jordanian daily al-Arab al-Youm that Iraq is the depth of the Arab nation, and it is the country and the supporter which have stood with the Arab nation in all areas of fighting with Israel.

The Jordanian officers said that they convey sincerely and faithfully the impulse of the Arab- Jordanian public which rejects the war against Iraq, stressing that occupation of Iraq will not be in the interest of Jordan nor the Palestinian issue, neither the Arab nation and that the only benefiting side from this war is Israel which aims at liquidating the Palestinian issue and getting rid of the Palestinian people.
