Nile Basin agreement prohibits selling transport water

Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mahmoud Abu Zeid said the Nile Basin agreement doesn't allow selling and transporting water. Abu Zeid, during a symposium on water held at Suez Canal University yesterday, said the agreement also prohibits the execution of projects prejudicing the water quota hit 55.5 billion cubic meters a year under the water partitioning agreement signed in 1959.
Egypt's quota has not increased since the agreement, he added.
