Saudi Prince Bander reply to Ramadan's accusations
Saudi Arabia-Iraq, Politics, 4/4/2003

Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the USA Prince Bandar Bin Sultan on Wednesday evening strongly replied to statements made by the Iraqi vice- president Taha Yassin Ramadan in which he accused him together with the Saudi foreign minister Saud al-Faisal as being "two hirelings" of the USA.

In a statement, the Saudi ambassador said "it is regrettable that ( Ramadan) will make such statements, knowing that it is not true." He added that the Iraqi vice president "knows completely the honorable stances of Saudi Arabia and its leaders in supporting the Iraqi people."

He continued "I do not have a reply because my principles and family affiliation do not allow me to talk this way. Every one behaves according to his own moral values. And as the poet said 'If I am mistreated by bad fellow, it is a testimony for me that I am good.'"
