RAM airliner reports 32% drop in overall traffic between march 22-28
Morocco, Business, 4/4/2003

The overall traffic of Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) incurred a 32% drop in all destinations between March 22-28, compared to the same period in 2001, said a release from the company.

RAM says these results confirm the pre-war expectations, underlining that the domestic traffic dropped by 43.3% and international flights by 28.6%.

The Moroccan airliner further says that the most significant decrease concerns the Middle East (79%), Europe (40.3% France not included) and France (18.5%), stressing that the results are compared with the same period in 2001 and not 2002 since "it was an exceptional year and cannot be taken as comparison basis."

The company further expects the overall traffic to decrease by 36% in the first week of April, mainly in the flights servicing Europe (44% France not included), France (26%), Africa (22%) and North America.
