Moroccan civil society demand stronger backing to Iraqi people
Morocco-Iraq, Politics, 4/4/2003
Moroccan civil society associations have renewed decry of the ongoing US-led war on Iraq and demanded a stronger backing to the Iraqi people. The associations called, in separate releases, on the international community to press for an immediate halt to what they called the execution of civilians, children, women and elderly.
The National Council of Former Resisters and Members of the Liberation Army, urged for an immediate stoppage of hostilities and for the unconditional withdrawal of occupation forces from Iraq.
The National Action Group of Backing to Iraq condemned US and Britain officials as "criminal leaders." "The True objectives of the war were unveiled by the criminal American and British leaders," the group said.
Free people in the world and Arab and Muslim forces should multiply initiatives to stand against the aggression, it said.
The Moroccan Association of Scientific Research decried attacks on Iraqi monuments and cultural sites as "a crime against humanity."
The association praised the resistance of the Iraqi people against the US and British destruction machine.
