Syrian teachers demonstrations against war on Iraq

With the participation of party, vocational and public activities, teachers in al-Raqqa Governorate ( southern Syria) staged yesterday a sit- in expressing solidarity with the Iraqi people and condemning the American- British aggression.

The teachers denounced the aggression that targeted the Iraqi children and infrastructure, and that opposed the international laws and conventions.

In al-Hassaka Governorate, the teachers staged a sit- in denouncing the "inhuman practices of the aggressive enemy against the Iraqi children, women, and elderly."

In a statement issued during the sit- in, the teachers condemned the American- British attack against the Iraqi people and against international resolutions.

The teachers participating in the sit-in praised the Iraqi steadfastness, and called for an immediate halt of this war stressing that Syria will continue its supportive stance to Arab solidarity and all Arab causes.

In Aleppo, Arab students organizations staged today sit-ins in solidarity with the Iraqi and Palestinian peoples expressing their anger at the aggressive war carried on by the American and British troops on Iraq.

Arab students who are studying in the Syrian universities carried the national flags, called for halting this aggressive war, and praised Syria's position in this regard.
