Suzanne Mubarak announces campaign to accept citizens financial aid for Iraqi people

The Egyptian Red Crescent, at a meeting Sunday under Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, chairperson of the Red Crescent, decided to extend relief aid to the people of Iraq and to accept financial donations from citizens for this purpose to be used to provide the required medical equipment and requirements of treatment.
Donations will be accepted at the general headquarters of the Red Crescent at Nasr City and at Galaa Street and its branches in the governorates or in a Red Crescent account devoted to the relief of the people of Iraq.
The meeting reviewed the tragic situation in Iraq and expressed its denunciation and sorrow for repeated violations of international human laws and declared solidarity with the "brotherly people of Iraq in their present crisis" and stressed that it was necessary to abide by the Geneva conventions that call for the protection and care of civilians and civilian establishments.
Secretary General of the Egyptian Red Crescent, Mahmoud Gabr, reviewed measures taken by the Egyptian Red Crescent to deal with the situation in Iraq.
