Morocco to earmark 1% of gdp to scientific research by 2010, minister

Moroccan Minister in charge of scientific research, Omar Fassi Fihri, said Morocco will earmark 1% of its GDP to scientific research by 2010.
The move will be made pursuant to recommendations of UNESCO's International Sciences Congress, held in Budapest in 1999.
The official told a local daily the amount allotted to scientific research in Morocco was 0.8% in 2001 and 2002 and 0.3 in 1997 and 1998.
