Morocco prevents anti-territorial integrity group from leaving to Geneva
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 3/31/2003
A source close to the Moroccan interior ministry said the Casablanca airport authorities have prevented on Thursday a group of individuals from leaving for Geneva where they intended to conduct actions that are hostile to Moroccan territorial integrity.
The source said the group members, who had benefited from a grace measure, are known for having already expressed ideas that oppose Morocco's territorial integrity.
While the Moroccan constitution stipulates in its preamble the Kingdom's adherence to human rights as they are universally recognized, it also considers Morocco's territorial integrity as a cause sacred to all Moroccans and to which all Moroccans are unanimously attached.
Remaining attached to the respect of human rights and to guaranteeing civil liberties for all citizens, Morocco will not tolerate activities that are meant to undermine its territorial integrity, a sacred cause for the entire Moroccan people, the source says.
