Al-Shara confers with Kaddoumi

Syria's Foreign Minister, received in Damascus on Saturday the Palestinian Liberation Organization Head of the Political Department Farkouk Kaddoumi and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the American-British aggression on Iraq which they considered to be a dangerous threat against the international peace and security.

Al-Shara stressed during the meeting the importance of American-British response to condemnation voices of the international community that calls for immediate stop to the war.

Both sides also stressed the importance of activating the Arab efforts to confront the challenges facing the Arab nation.

In a statement to the press, Kaddoumi described the talks with al-Shara as clear and frank which dealt with the American war on Iraq and its repercussion on the national security as well as dealing with the Palestinian cause and the "Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people."

He added that the American administration fails to cover the Palestinian cause by launching a war against Iraq because the Palestinian cause is an international issue and will remain the center of the international interest.
