Moroccan, French councils sign cooperation agreement to promote southern region

A cooperation agreement was signed in Agadir on Friday between the council of Souss Massa Draa region (south Morocco) and the county council of Herault (France).

This agreement aims to reinforce Morocco-France cooperation and reflects the two local authorities' faith in the significant role of decentralized cooperation as a means of dialogue, cooperation and rapprochement of peoples.

The objective of this cooperation is to promote the region of Souss Massa Draa through economic and agricultural development, while respecting environment and cultural heritage.

The agreement comprises social and educational development, women promotion, schooling, informal education, new information and communication technologies, technicians' training and transfer of knowledge.
