Moroccan political organizations condemn war, call for immediate halt
Morocco-Iraq, Politics, 3/29/2003
Moroccan political organizations and associations reiterated their condemnation to the American-British led war on Iraq, calling for the immediate cessation of all military operations.
The Moroccan press union (SNPM) said in a release it strongly denounces the aggression "targeting citizens, and social, economic and media institutions."
The union particularly condemned the aggression incurred against Iraqi journalists, as a violation of the Geneva Convention and international law. The Moroccan TV channel staff denounced the coalition's aggression and expressed solidarity with all peers at Iraqi TV, calling for the cessation of military action and observance of international law.
The Women Action Union (UAF) strongly condemned this "dirty and unjust war" that is after Iraq's oil wealth.
UAF hailed the "brave resistance of the Iraqi people," and urged Moroccan women to participate in the national march of solidarity with Iraq scheduled next Sunday in Rabat.
