European Investment Bank to open office in morocco
Morocco-European Union, Economics, 3/29/2003
The European Investment Bank (EIB) projects to open a representation in Morocco, announced in Brussel on Friday an official from EIB, Alain Seve, during an encounter on European mechanisms for investments encouragement in the Kingdom.
The representation will be launched by the end of this year or beginning of 2004, he said, noting that such a decision highlights the level of confidence enjoyed by Morocco within European financial institutions.
The encounter, staged by Morocco's mission to European communities, took place in the presence of ten directors of the Regional Investment Centers (CRI), as well as representatives from the European Commission and from the EIB.
Aicha Belarbi, Morocco's ambassador to the European communities said investment promotion in Morocco figures high on the Kingdom's priority list, as reiterated time and again by King Mohammed VI.
Thanks to its political stability and reforms implemented in economic, judicial and administrative realms, Morocco offers an enticing environment for foreign capital, she stressed.
