Morocco's premier holds talks with trade unions' representatives

Morocco's Premier, Driss Jettou, held in Rabat on Wednesday successive talks with the leaders of three trade unions, namely the Democratic Labor Confederation(CDT), Moroccan Labor Union (UMT) and the General Union of Moroccan Workers (UGTM).
These meetings, held the presence of Employment, Social Affairs and Solidarity minister, Mostapha Mansouri, are part of the government's consultations with trade unions on issues related to social and economic realms, says a release of the Prime Minister's office.
During these meetings, Jettou identified top priority issues that should be addressed first, namely medical insurance, labor code, the right to go on industrial action, and early and complementary retirement systems.
He also mentioned social housing program for workers, the funding of certain trade unions' related activities, compensation for layouts and the amendment of texts providing for the election of workers representatives.
All these issues will be probed during the first phase of consultations to start next week, the release adds.
