RAM airliner reports 26.7% drop in overall traffic between march 15-21

Moroccan domestic airliner Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has reported a drop of nearly 26.7% in its overall traffic comprising all destinations between March 15 and 21 compared to the same period in the previous quarter.

RAM says passengers on domestic flights have dropped by 48% while those of international flights have decreased by 19.3%. The strongest decrease was recorded in the Middle East (52%), Europe (32.7% not comprising France) and France (11.3%).

RAM further expects the overall traffic to decline by 28% during the fourth week of March. This reduction will mainly affect the destinations of Europe (44%) and France (18%).

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects a 20% reduction in the activities of its member states' air companies until the end of the year.
