Al-Basra water supplies re-operated partially

The Iraqi water engineers and employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross were able to re-operate the main water pumping station which provides al-Basra city, southern Iraq, partially.
The ICRC estimates that 50% of the population of the city totaled 1.5 million are now able to get potable water.
Meantime, technicians of al-Basra water directorate and engineers of the ICRC were able to operate three electricity generators out of the 6 which stopped working because of electricity grid cut. The other three are still non- operational because of the lack of spare parts.
However, engineers of the ICRC and local Iraqi engineers still continue efforts to re-operate the pumping station normally.
