Al-Bashir, Garang are to meet in Nairobi in April
Sudan, Politics, 3/28/2003

The rebel movement in southern Sudan led by John Garang has expected that the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir will be meeting with him in Nairobi by the beginning of April.

The spokesman for the rebels Yasser Araman said that the expected meeting will be an important step to prepare the positive atmospheres in the peace process in Sudan.

On the other hand, the Sudanese government has placed its forces in Darfour, west Sudan, in a state of alert following the killing of 4 persons including an army officer in an attack carried out on Wednesday against al-Teinah border area with Chad.

To this effect, the Sudanese daily al-Hurreyah ( freedom) issued yesterday quoted well-informed sources as saying that an armed gang attacked al- Teinah town and killed 4 persons and confiscated properties of citizens and was able to flee in Land Cruz cars.
