A detained Lebanese died in an Israeli Jail

A Lebanese citizen, detained in Israel since 1989 under the charge of smuggling drugs died on Monday following an illness in an Israeli hospital, according to the Israeli jails administration yesterday.
The office of the spokesman for the Israeli jails administration said that Muhammad Hussein Berro ( 70 year old) detained in Shatta prison in Beisan in the north of the Jordanian valley died on Monday at Haymek hospital in al-Afola to the north of Israel.
The spokesman added that Muhammad Hussein Berro was suffering heart problems and then diabetes. He was sentenced for 18 year imprisonment after being convicted of smuggling drugs and started to fulfil the sentence in August 1989.
