Kharazi, Moussa talks on efforts to halt the war against Iraq

Iranian Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharazi ,and Arab League Secretary General, Amr Moussa, reviewed yesterday during a phone call, the Arab and Islamic countries diplomatic efforts for preventing the continuation of the US-British war on Iraq. The two sides stressed the necessity for activating the United Nations role.

Moussa touched upon the results and resolution of the Arab Foreign Ministers meeting, recently held in Cairo.

For his part, Khartazi pointed out to the bad consequences of war.

In Cairo, Moussa reviewed with the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Naji Sabri, the resolution issued yesterday by the Arab Foreign Ministers and the necessity of implementing it.

Moussa lauded the Iraqi resistance stressing that it would play an important role in deciding the future situation in Iraq and the region.

He described the resolution as an important one for determining the needed steps for an immediate halt of this aggression and the US-British forces withdrawal from Iraq.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Writers Union denounced the aggression on Iraq stressing that this aggression expresses the US desire and schemes to dominate the world and to seize its resources paying no heed to international law and human values.

The Union called for adopting an active Arab stance towards such aggression which is a dangerous threat against the Pan-Arab security, the international peace and stability.

The Union appreciated the Iraqi people's steadfastness stressing the complete support to Iraq.
