President of Benin praises Morocco and urges for its return to African union
Morocco-Benin, Politics, 3/25/2003
President of Benin, Mathieu Kerekou, praised on Friday in Porto Novo (administrative capital of Benin) the rule of law of Morocco and urged for the Kingdom's return to the African fold.
Benin's head of state said his country is interested in Morocco's tourism and traditional shrimp fishing experience and know-how.
As examples for cooperation between the two African countries, Kerekou cited the recent signing of an addendum to the 1998 agreement under which Morocco is taking part in the extension of the Hassan II campus in Abomey Calavi (outskirts of the capital city) and the signing next week of a convention related to Morocco's contribution to the building of the supreme court in Porto Novo.
