Arab League Secretary General has called on the international Community and all peace forces in the world to strongly confront the US-British aggressive war against Iraq which he said is a clear violation of the international law.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the league underlined the importance of adopting an Arab active stance and continuation of the diplomatic efforts for solving the Iraqi issue in peaceful ways in the frame work of the United Nations.

The statement pointed out to the critical stage which the Arab states is passing through and to dangers which touch its entity, identity and values.

In Beirut, Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, asserted that the US-British aggression against Iraq is a clear violation of the international law, charters and human rights.

Lahoud lauded the Iraqi people' steadfastness in spite of the difficult circumstances they are living and renewed Lebanese people solidarity with them.

In Tehran, Iran's Interior Minister, Abdul-Wahed Mosawi Lari, called for stopping the war against Iraq.

Meanwhile, Tens thousands of citizens and students in Arab and foreign countries participated in large mass demonstrations condemning the aggressive war on Iraq.

The demonstrators in Egypt, Sudan, Bahrain, Spain and in other countries raised flags and slogans denouncing the US-British war on Iraq and calling for peace and stopping the war.
