Saudi consultative demands halting war on Iraq
Saudi Arabia-Iraq, Politics, 3/24/2003
The Saudi Consultative Council "Shura" demanded yesterday a halt to the U.S- led war against Iraq which they described as a breach to international law.
The Council, an unelected body appointed by the king, clarified, in its session held in Riyadh, that U.S.A and Britain decided to launch the war instead of the diplomatic means showing disregard of the world opinion.
The Council announced solidarity with the Iraqi people who live in a great dilemma and misery.
The council concluded by warning of the repercussions of this disastrous war.
