Greek- Orthodox church deplores attack against Iraq

Patriarch of Antioch and all the East for Greek Orthodox, Ignatius Hazim IV, has condemned the policy of "the right of might vis- a- vis the power of right" which are practiced by the American and British administrations against Iraqi people and the Arab and Islamic nations without any legitimate justification.

In a statement issued today, Patriarch Hazim expressed deep grief and sorrow due to the American and British contempt of peace calls by millions of peoples from all over the world.

He appealed for halting the war against Iraq because this war threatens world peace and security.

He called every believer to do his duty regarding the Iraqis who are being hurt by this war, and to pray for the sake of the Iraqi and Palestinian peoples.
