Egypt's Speaker of parliament: Signals of dark era
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 3/22/2003

Egypt's Speaker of the People's Assembly Dr Ahmed Fathi Sorour Thursday said that the U.S. aggression on Iraq signals the start of a dark era in the history of humanity.

Adverse effects of this aggression will only be known later, he said.

He regretted that the U.S. and Britain have interpreted certain UNSC resolution according to their own convenience and Washington used UNSC resoltuion 678 as greenlight wherby it launched a war on Iraq.

The final word is now for the unipolar, who depends on force not legitimacy, he said.

President Hosni Mubarak in his statement on Wedenday reflected the genuine feelings of the man on the street and held those who invaded Kuwait and viloated international legitimacy responsible for the critical situation the region is facing now.
