American embassy in Amman suspends services

Diplomatic sources in Amman yesterday said that the US embassy in Amman has suspended all its services in precaution for any emergency because of the American war against Iraq.
The sources explained that the consulate, and trade section and other departments that provide services including projects of the US agency for international development were all closed and the embassy will only open for the American citizens who need emergency services.
The sources said that several embassy employees had left Jordan of fears of the development of conditions in the region.
