Al-Shara confers with Annan in New York

Syria's Foreign Minister, Farouk al-Shara met in New York on Wednesday Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Anan. Both sides stressed the necessity of the commitment to the role of the Security Council in order to reach a peaceful solution and save Iraq the aggression.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the developments of the Iraqi issue and the emergency session that the Security Council held on the Foreign Ministerial level to discuss this issue.
