Kuwaiti coasts guards kill an Iraqi sailor
Kuwait-Iraq, Politics, 3/20/2003

A spokesman for the American fifth fleet in Manama said yesterday that a Kuwaiti coasts guards ship opened fire at an Iraqi boat in the Kuwaiti territorial water because it refused to comply with an order to stop and this resulted in killing one member of the Iraqi boat team.

The US official was quoted as saying that the Iraqi boat did not respond to the warning of the Kuwaiti naval ship when it opened warning shots and this resulted in killing one member of the crew of the Iraqi boat.

The official added that an Australian rescue ship arrived at the site but could not rescue the life of the Iraqi sailor.
