Casablanca Arab song festival postponed in solidarity with Iraq

The Moroccan musicians free union announced the postponement to a later (unspecified) date of the Arab song festival that was slated for next Saturday.
The decision was made following "the aggression against the Iraqi brothers," the union explains.
In Rabat, journalists, artists and musicians held on Monday a rally to express through various artistic and expression means solidarity with the Iraqi people. The show started with the unveiling of a big collective painting by nine artists depicting the fears of a tragedy that war will cause for Iraq and its people.
Chairman of the Moroccan writers union, speaking in the presence of a host of political and artistic figures and a large public said the event was a spontaneous token of solidarity with the Iraqi people.
Moroccan poet and former communication minister, Mohamed Achaari, expressed refusal of an attempt to harm the Arab nation and rejection of all forms of colonialism.
