Amir of Qatar pardons Jordanian journalist

The Amir of Qatar has issued a decree for pardoning the Jordanian journalist Firas al-Majali who was convicted to death in Qatar on charge of spying. The Qatar's news agency said that this pardoning was issued on the occasion of the visit held by the Jordanian king Abdullah II to Qatar and in consolidation of the ties between the two states.
King Abdullah of Jordan arrived on Monday in Qatar coming from the United Arab Emirates and met with the ruler of Qatar in a first round of talks between the two sides.
