Special commission to settle differences relating to Jordanian press

The chairman of the higher council for the media in Jordan, Ibrahim Ezz Eddine, said that the council has the intention to form a special commission to settle disputes relating to the press and discussing of complaints submitted to it to alleviate the process of having to resort to courts.
In a meeting organized by the media forum at the Jordanian center for studies and information, he said that the higher council for the media which is a governmental entity, but an independent side, gives its view point in matters relating to the media and creates a state of contacts between the government, the press and the citizens, noting that that there is a governmental response in many issues.
The council, however, works for boosting human resources in the sector of the media and contribute to laying the media policies and following up set policy in order to avail views and counter views, ensure training and qualification needed for a journalist and to consider complaints arriving into the council.
