Syria, UAE sign oil and gas agreement

Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Haddad and United Arab Emirates' minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Obeid Bin Seif al-Naseri signed yesterday in Damascus cooperation protocol in the fields of oil, gas and mineral resource between Syria and U.A.E.
The protocol laid down exerting the joint means for encouraging the general and private sectors in the two states to invest in the fields of oil, gas and mineral resource. It encourages also the two sectors in the two states to institute joint companies in the fields of exploration, production and marketing related to oil, gas and mineral resource.
Also on Monday, the Syrian minister received United Arab Emirates' Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Obeid Bin Seif Al-Naseri and an accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the necessity of boosting, developing, and activating relations of cooperation between the two states in fields of oil, gas, and studying possibilities of the joint investment projects.
Al-Naseri stressed the importance of the Arab joint action for realizing economic integration and establishing joint investment projects.
