Agha Khan Network to implement projects in Syria

The Governor of Tartous, a coastal Syrian province, Aram Saliba received on Thursday a delegation representing Agha Khan network for development in Syria.
Saliba briefed the delegation on Tartous geographical nature, its climate and economic resources underlining the importance of the continuous cooperation with Agha Khan network.
The delegation gave an overall review of the network's various activities in Syria in fields of education, health, rural developments and management of water resources.
Later on, an understanding memorandum on starting in performance of the small loans program in many villages of the governorate, was signed. The small loans program of Agha Khan network in Syria is a part of its long termed developmental purposes which aim at developing the private economic sector activities, supporting and increasing projects of commerce activities and small industries.
The delegation includes representative of Agha Khan Network in Syria, Mufaddi Saifo and Executive Director of Agha Khan Institution, Alim Walji.
