Vatican denies mediation for quitting Saddam

The Vatican yesterday denied Brittish and Australian press reports on making efforts to convince the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to accept exile. The spokesman for the Vatican Jawakin Vals strongly denied these reports which he described as baseless, considering that launching a war against Iraq to be immoral.
