Russia will vote against a new resolution on Iraq

Russia Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov stressed on Monday that Russia will vote against the American British new resolution regarding the Iraqi issue at the UNited Nations Security Council.

In a statement Ivanov said that the new resolution contradicts with UN Security Council resolution 1441.

For his part Head of the Russian Parliament Council ( Duma) asserted his country's rejection to the military act against Iraq stressing that the US possible war on Iraq is a war on all peace-loving people.

In Germany, a spokesman of the German government stressed that German Chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder will attend personally the meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the vote on new resolution on Iraq.

In Iran President Mohammed Khatami renewed his country's opposition to the military act on Iraq stressing his wishes to find a peaceful solution to the Iraqi crisis and to avoid the danger of war on the region.
