Syria's grand mufti meets with chairman of Scotland archbishop for cooperation among religions

Syria's Grand Mufti, Sheikh, Ahmad Kitaro, received in Damascus yesterday Chairman of Scotland archbishop, Fenli Macdonald and an accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the importance of cooperation among individuals of the heavenly messages for protecting man and ensuring peace and good life for all individuals.
Kiftaro noted "the Israeli brutal massacres in the Palestinian territories and the US declaration of an open and comprehensive war to include the Arab and Islamic regions to serve the interest of the Zionist purposes."
For his part, Macdonald asserted opposition of people in the West to the US possible war on Iraq. He indicated that the huge demonstrations staged with the participation of deferent classes of the European society to express opposition to war.
He praised Syria's social life which is distinguished by fraternity and tolerance.
