Moroccan speaker meets Vietnamese president
Morocco-Vietnam, Politics, 3/7/2003

Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives (parliament lower chamber), Abdelouahed Radi, currently on a visit to Vietnam, met in Hanoi Wednesday President Tran Du Luong.

Radi conveyed to the Vietnamese president the greetings of king Mohammed VI, and voiced Morocco's will to foster bilateral ties and trade and scientific exchanges with the Asian country, the House of Representatives said in a release.

The speaker expressed "Morocco's consideration to Vietnam for its stand on the Moroccan Sahara issue, particularly its support to United Nations efforts for a peaceful settlement that satisfies all parties and preserves Morocco's rights."

The Vietnamese head of state said Radi's visit to Hanoi is a gesture of "important significance, and a significant milestone in bilateral relationships," the release says.

Abdelouahed Radi had earlier met several Vietnamese members of government and parliamentarians.
