Tribal clashes in Yemen due to revenge
Yemen, Local, 3/6/2003

One person was killed and other four wounded in tribal clashes between two tribes near Sanaa International airport.

Tribal sources said that the clashes which lasted for several hours started because of an "old revenge" between Beit al-Ozari villages and Sh'ab, on the one hand and the village of Bani Dgheish, on the other, noting that tribal mediations are underway to calm down the situation.

On the other hand, the Yemeni minister of the interior Rashad al-Oleimi received a message from his Saudi counterpart prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz, handed over by the Saudi charge de affairs in Sanaa. No information was disclosed on the content of the message.

The Yemeni government had asked the Saudi Arabian government to hand it at least three Yemeni persons who live in Saudi Arabia and are suspected to be members at al-Qaida organizations and to be involved in the two incidents of blowing up the American navy ship USS Cole in Aden two years ago and the French oil tanker Limborg in 2002.
