The special summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference announced in its final session in Doha its categorical rejection to launching a war against Iraq. It called in a statement on the Arab states not to take part in any military action aimed at Iraq or any Islamic country.

Concerning the situation between Iraq and Kuwait, the statement, once again, called for honoring Kuwait's security and sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders and called for the importance of halting negative media campaigns in order to create positive atmospheres between the two states.

The statement also encouraged the resumption of dialogue between Iraq and Kuwait concerning the Kuwaiti prisoners and missing since the Gulf war of 1990.

However, earlier in the day and at his capacity as the current president of the OIC current rotating summit, the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani opened in Doha the emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference at Doha, which was to concentrate on the Iraqi crises.

Warning that the military solution will cause suffering and conflict that may lead the region to unpredictable danger, Sheikh Hamad said, In a speech he delivered at the opening session, that it is important to exert all peaceful means to solve the Iraqi crises.

He stressed that Israel is seeking to exploit the international circumstances to destroy peace through the use of military power against the Palestinians.
