Al-Assad phones Musharaf on Iraq

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad made yesterday a phone call with the Pakistani President, Baravez Musharaf, during which he briefed him on the outcome and on the final statement of the Arab Summit which was held in Sharm al-Sheikh, that expressed the unified stance of the Arab states which oppose and reject to take part in any aggression on Iraq. Syria and Pakistan are members at the Security Council,.
He called Pakistan to intensify its efforts with the cooperation of Syria and other countries at the Security Council to unify ranks against any initiative or effort that may give the United States the justification for a military strike against Iraq.
The two Presidents agreed on the continuation of contacts and consultations between them. SANA
