Libya summons its ambassador from Saudi Arabia for consultation
Libya-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 3/4/2003
An official Libyan source in Tripoli announced yesterday that Libya has decided to summon its ambassador from Saudi Arabia for consultation following the rift that took place during Saturday's press conference between Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi and Saudi ArabiaÕs Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz.
The Libyan people's general congress took this decision expressing its regret over the "campaign Col al Qathafi has been exposed to by crown prince Abdullah."
Thousands of Libyans demonstrated on Saturday and Sunday in front of the Saudi embassy in Tripoli and in Banghazi, the second largest city in the country chanting slogans against the Saudi royal family.
