Arab FM s preparatory meeting in Sharm esh Sheikh
Regional-Iraq, Politics, 2/28/2003

Arab Foreign Ministers held yesterday in Sharm esh Sheikh, Egypt a consultative meeting in preparation for the 15th ordinary Arab Summit which will be held on Saturday.

Syria's Foreign Minister, Farouk al-Shara with an accompanying delegation attended this meeting.

Al-Shara asserted during this meeting the necessity to adopt a unified and decisive Arabic stand vis-a-vis the threats facing Iraq and the region to avoid the U.S led possible attack on Iraq and to reach a peaceful solution based on the U.N 1441 resolution.

Al-Shara referred to Iraq's full cooperation with the inspectors team. He stressed on the necessity for the inspection process to take its sufficient time.

He then called the Arabs to deal with Iraqi and region issues in the frame of a complete and nationalistic light for a complete and a unified interest. That is to say any threat or aggression against any Arabic state should be considered an aggression against the whole Arab nation.
