Moussa denied that Syria has had refused to take part in the summit and stressed that no Arab state has laid any condition to attend it. Moussa also avoided to answer a question on whether the summit will decide to send a mission to Baghdad or not.
He stressed that the UN chief Kofi Annan will take part in the works of the summit. He said that Iraq had informed the AL that the deputy chairman of the revolution's leadership council Izzat Ibrahim will preside over the Iraqi delegation to the summit which will also include Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan and the foreign minister Naji Sabri.
Iraq had agreed to attend the summit after it had received assurances that this summit will not be used to provide a cover for any American war against Iraq.
