Yemen, Politics, 2/26/2003
A Yemeni security source said yesterday that a Yemeni judge in charge of the terrorism file in Yemen was killed by bullets on Sunday at the hand of unidentified persons in the Eastern part of the country.
An official in the Yemeni police said that the attacker broke into the house of the judge Omar Ahmad al-Qabbas in the governorate of Shabwa, to the eastern part of the country and opened fire at him and he was killed immediately.
On the other hand, the Yemeni ministry of justice eulogized judge al-Qabbas and considered what had happened as "a brutal attack and a great loss for the country and the jury."
Judge al-Qabbas is a member of the criminal court in Sanaa, specialized in terrorism issues.
