Egypt gives vacant land to citizens
Egypt, Economics, 2/25/2003
Egypt's Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mahmoud Abu Zeid issued a decree to set up a technical committee to be in charge of enlisting all vacant plots of the lands overlooking the Nile to be distributed on junior farmers. The planned ventures would be environment-friendly and would not cause any harm to the Nile, he added.
He proposed the mapping out of an Arab water charter which will include all data on different water resources and projects under construction and means of making optimum use of them up till the year 2027.
