Saudi Arabia: the first Journalists commission established

Saudi Arabia's minister of information, Fouad Abdul Salam al-Farsi, has announced his consent to establish "a Saudi journalists commission" with the aim to organize relations between professionals in the realm of journalism.
The Saudi official News agency said yesterday that al-Farsi approved the establishment of this commission in order to be a "framework to organize relations and maintain cooperation among workers in the area of journalism as well as to organize relations between the press and media establishments they work for." The agency said that the aim of the decision is to give great deal of confidence and a greater sense of responsibility towards their society and homeland, alike."
