Egypt's quota from Nile water is out of any talks between Nile Basin countries, said Mahmoud Abu Zeid, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, noting that Egypt aims at exploiting 1.600 billion cubic meters of water.
The minister said following the opening of the Middle East symposium under the title "challenges of water and population," that Egypt has been carefully following attempts by some countries to penetrate into the basin and the national experts set up several scenarios for facing any developments in the region.
Abu Zeid further added that Egypt asked for completing works, of Gongley canal in Sudan since it will spare 4 billion cubic meters for the two countries.
The World Bank will provide world water forum next March with studies and research on partnerships of national sector.
