Israeli army opened fire at Palestinian demonstrators in Nablus, UNHCR: Israeli practices unjustified

The Israeli forces yesterday continued its operations against the Palestinians in acts of killing, detention and destruction of homes as well as breaking into cities and villages.

The Israeli forces opened fire at a Palestinian demonstration in Nablus that was organized in protest against the breaking in operations committed by the Israeli army and the Israeli settlers.

News reports said that the Palestinians responded by throwing stones at the Israeli soldiers.

Meantime, the Israeli forces destroyed by missiles the house of Muhammad Betran, one of the Palestinian resistance leaders in Zanah village in Hebron after the Israeli soldiers tried to arrest him. His fate is still unknown because the house collapsed, while Tammoun witnessed a campaign of arrest targeted 13 Palestinians.

In Gaza, the Israeli forces demolished the house of Aziz al-Haj Ali over his being a member in the Hamas movement.

Meantime, the UNHCR commissioner Serjio Vieirra De Millo denounced Israel's use of the military force against Palestinian civilians. In a statement by the UNHCR, De Millo said the use of military force against civilians is not justified. He expressed his great concern over the killing of 28 Palestinians in Gaza within the few past days.

He added that such acts destroy the peace process, calling on Israel to halt its works against the innocent Palestinians.

De Millo expressed his condolences to the families of the Palestinian victims who were killed at the hands of the Israeli forces in Gaza.
