Kuwait: foreign forces are defensive; three UAE ships join al-Jazeera Shield

Kuwait minister of state for foreign affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, announced that his country seeks to solve the Iraqi crisis peacefully, while three UAE ships arrived in Kuwait in the framework of the deployment of the gulf based "al-Jazeera Shield" forces in Kuwait.

The Kuwaiti news agency quoted the minister as saying in statements that Kuwait wants to avoid the war "through Iraq's implementation of the UN resolutions completely."

On the other hand, three UAE military ships arrived in Kuwait yesterday to take part together with the Kuwaiti armed forces in confrontation of any foreign dangers. The commander of the naval forces Lt. Gen. Ahmad al-Mulla said that military units belong to the land force in the UAE army is on the way to Kuwait to join other forces that already arrived on Tuesday.

Meantime, the US defense department announced that one American soldier from 82nd parachutists unit was wounded yesterday during training with live bullets in Kuwait. The American central leadership explained in a statement that an investigation was opened into the incident.
