Jordanian king denies neglecting political development

The Jordanian King has met with a group of university students representing Amman's al-Ahleyah University and talked to them about various local and Arab political and economic issues. He denied neglecting political development in the country and called for uniting the parties.
The Jordanian students representatives debated before King Abdullah questions on issues relating to youths, poverty and unemployment, the requirement of the work market, the slogan of "Jordan first" and also the question of Palestine and Iraq.
The king stressed improvement of the economic situation and work to find out work opportunities for youths who compose half of the society and to invest in the Jordanian citizen through embarking on qualification, and training for the labor market.
The king told the students that work is underway to find out a mechanism with universities in order to follow up on youths issues. He denied that the Jordanian government is focused on economic development at the expense of the political development. He said such a say is not precise, noting the determination to hold parliamentary elections.
Concerning the party issue, the Jordanian king renewed his call that the Jordanian political parties to be united to form parties of larger size that would help its members to adopt applicable economic and social programs.
