Israel escalate operations against Palestinians, 13 killed in Gaza, Nablus

The Israeli occupation forces yesterday continued its military operations in the West Bank following the invasion of Gaza on Tuesday that resulted in killing 11 Palestinians.

News reports said that two Palestinians were killed by the Israeli forces in the old town in Nablus to the North of the West Bank. The Palestinian teenager Muhammad Saber ( 16 year old) was killed by the Israeli soldiers bullets during confrontation with the Israeli soldiers who reimposed curfew on the downtown of the city. Earlier in the day, Nasser Abu Safeyah ( 32 year old) was killed by the Israeli bullets in one of Nablus's streets.

Meantime, the Palestinian leadership has called on the UN Security Council to denounce the "Israeli crime" in the east of the city of Gaza on Tuesday. In a statement the Palestinian leadership said that 100 Israeli tanks backed by Apache planes attacked al-Shuja'eyah quarters, al-Tuffah quarters and Jabalia in Gaza. The statement considered that the government of Israel is using the current international preoccupation with Iraq in order to commit crimes against the Palestinian people and criticized the international silence concerning these practices.

Most of the killed Palestinians were killed during the clashes with the Israeli soldiers in Gaza including one armed man who detonated himself in an Israeli tank. The bodies of three Palestinians were found under the remains of one house demolished by the Israeli forces during the operation.

The Palestinian intelligence department stressed that among the killed Palestinians were three of its members who were killed by missiles of the Israeli Apache planes in al-Shuja'eyah quarters during the incursion operation which lasted for 6 hours.

Al-Qassam group, the military wing of the Islamist resistance movement Hamas announced that its members hit five Israeli tanks in al-Shuja"eyah.
